Mad Max: Fury Road

In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, loner Max (Tom Hardy) meets a group crossing the desert led by Furiosa (Charlize Theron), who are on the run from Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), the tyrannical ruler of the Citadel because she stole their most precious and irreplaceable resource. They need Max’s knowledge of the desert to safely cross it and escape the pursuit of Joe and his gang.

Set between the events of Mad Max and Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, Fury Road is expected to deliver the same high-octane action seen in the first two films. Director George Miller is famous for nail-biting action stunt scenes that are fully practical; no CGI special effects. Indeed, the action-packed, mind blowing trailers and footage of Fury Road have been overwhelmingly positive, and the casting of Tom Hardy as Max might indicate a reboot with the potential of a franchise for Warner Bros. In a March 2015, interview with Esquire magazine, Hardy revealed he was attached to star in three more Mad Max films following Fury Road. This is by no means guaranteed, as the box office tally will likely be the deal maker or breaker, but a hit likely paves the way for more films. In theaters May 15.
