Square Enix has brought us some great games over the years and this year at E3 they had to step it up to keep up with the rest of the companies and their presentations. The first game that they showed was Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Taking place deep in the jungle she will not only have to contend with the wildlife but a force that is hunting her known as the Trinity. This isn’t your normal Lara Croft however, as she is learning how to become one with the jungle taking out foes with a bow silently and then stringing them up to take them out. This new Tomb Raider is slated for release September 14th of this year and if you love the series this will be one to watch.

Next we got a trailer for the new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood and if you are playing this game this looks like there will be a bit more meat for this franchise. They also teased that for Summer 2018 that Final Fantasy XIV will be crossing over with Monster Hunter: World. I have no idea how that is going to work but it sounds amazing! Next we got a small blurb on the Captain Spirit adventure game that will be coming out later this year and the developers have said this isn’t Life is Strange 2 (however, that is coming down the pike). And they also said the game is 100% free and will be released June 26, 2018!

The next trailer threw me for a loop as I had no idea this was being developed. Yes folks. We are getting another Dragon Quest game! I love that series and have been playing it ever since it was released on the original Nintendo. This is the setting of Dragon Quest XI Echoes of an Elusive Age and I cannot wait to play this. I will not have to wait long as it is going to be released September 4th, 2018 not only for the PS4 but for Steam as well! The next trailer showed progression of a world and it is called Babylon’s Fall however, not a lot of info is known about this game yet as it is being released in 2019. Also announced was the Nier: Automata remaster for the Xbox One and that will be coming to a store near you on June 26th, 2018 and will include all the DLC that was released for this game.

The next game that was announced was an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. This seems to be an RPG where you can gather up a party and go out into the world to fight monsters. The visuals remind me of some of the older Playstation titles but it looks very interesting! You will control eight characters ranging from hunter, warrior and thief and apothecary. The game is called Octopath Traveller and is being released for the switch on July 13th, 2018. Granted I do not own a Nintendo Switch or a PS4 however, this game makes me interested in purchasing one!

Just Cause 4 is the next game announced and if you didn’t catch it in my previous video this shows off some of the things you can do in game. It is just fast paced, breakneck action as you play as Rico in the South American town of Soliz. You will drive cars, fly jets and cause massive amounts of property damage when Just Cause 4 comes to consoles and PC December 4th, 2018. We also got a teaser for another new game called the Quiet Man and the teaser states we will get more information in August.

Next up was the trailer that we previously saw for Kingdom Hearts 3 however, we did not get a release date then and now we do. This game will be available January 29th, 2019. It sounds like a long way off but believe me when I tell you the amount of content in this game will make the wait more than worth it.

And there you have it! That was the last of the Square Enix 2018 showcase! You can always watch the replay of this showcase here but what did you think? Did Square Enix wow you this year or could they have brought more to the table? Let us know by commenting below!
