Brightburn: Here to Save or Destroy the World?

Brightburn (Jackson A. Dunn) stars in Screen Gems’ BRIGHTBURN.

Imagine if you will that you have been married for a few years and have been trying to start a family. However, no matter how hard you try you are unable to but one night there was a bright flash in the sky! You run outside your house and see a crashed ship that harbors a small infant. So do you raise this child as your own? This is the question that is brought up in the latest release called Brightburn

Brightburn takes place in the small town of Brightburn, Kansas as Tori and Kyle Breyer live on a small farm. One night a ship from another world crashes to the earth and they rescue the infant that is nestled inside. Things are happy and grand for this newfound family and they raise this child as if it was their own. However, on his twelfth birthday things start to change as Brandon hits puberty. He also notices that the ship he arrived in starts to transmit a signal that only he can hear in his head. He also notices that he is developing powers and is becoming a bit more violent. Will his parents be able to control Brandon and his urges or will he unleash his powers on an unsuspecting world? What I love about this movie is that it takes the Superman trope and turns it on its head and without giving anything away, this is a film that needs to be watched.
