People associate the name Troma with low budget and bad horror movies. Some of the more famous ones are The Class of Nuke ‘Em High, Troma’s War, Surf Nazi’s Must Die and of course the one that started it all, The Toxic Avenger. This film was about a 98 pound weakling who became a disfigured and buff superhero after falling into a vat of nuclear waste.
Now the folks over at Troma are doing this again however, this time it is going to be bigger and badder than ever!
There are more than a few trailers online and I am going to link every one that I find here but the story follows Winston Gooze who is a janitor trying to make sense of his life. He lost his wife and now it is just him taking care of his kid named Wade. He has been getting terrible headaches and the company that he works for will not help him with his condition. After uncovering sinister dealings about where he works the villain of the story (played by Kevin Bacon) summons a monstercore band called the Killer Nutz to handle him. They throw him into a vat of nuclear waste and it transforms him into the Toxic Avenger. But can he use these new found powers to not only save the city but to heal the bond with his son?
This is a star studded cast as you have actors like Kevin Bacon, Peter Dinkledge, Elijah Wood and Jacob Tremblay just to name a few. This film will be released exclusively in theaters on August 29th 2025 and if you want to experience a gore filled reboot of a beloved franchise give this a look!
